Dinner for a Week - June
June 24, 2023
This event teaches single parents how to prepare low-cost, nutritional meals and helps to ease the financial burden of meals during summer months when free lunches are unavailable. A single parent planning committee develops low cost, kid-friendly, quick, nutritious meals to make and take home. Parents make and take 5-7 meals and each meal serves a family of 4. In addition, each parent learns food safety and receives kitchen items needed to make and store the meals such as cutting boards, knives, bowls, kitchen towels etc...
While some of the food is provided through store and church collections the rest of the food and kitchen supplies are purchased. The food cost for each participant is approximately $75 and the gifting items are $5-10.
