Participant Qualifications:

  • Be a widow or single parent with children 18 or under in our service area. 
  • Sign up and attend one or more of our giftings.

To be a participant simply sign up and attend one or more of the following giftings: Healthy Homes, Dinner For a Week, Back-2-School, Thanksgiving Blessings, or Christmas Blessings.

In addition to receiving what you signed up for, you will benefit from the following services, as available:

  • Age Appropriate Bibles for all family members
  • Clothes/furniture/household wares as donated
  • Emergency assistance referrals as available
  • Automotive advisor and referrals as needed


Becoming a participant is easy; just start participating in our events! To maintain your status as a Participant we require the following:

  1. Sign up for an event.
  2. Attend the event you signed up for and receive your gifts.

Active Participants

Active Participant status must be achieved yearly. Our Calendar year starts after the Back-2-School gifting and ends in July.

Active Participants must be a participant and meet one of the following Qualifications:

  • Attend Retreat
  • Attend Family Camp
  • Attend a full session of Book Club
  • Regularly attend a sponsoring Church
  • Volunteer on an event team

Active participants are growing in their relationship with Christ and others and thus serve others by attending Book Club, Retreat, Family Camp, or volunteering at other One Step events.  

As an Active Participant, in addition to the above services, you will also receive the following services, as available:

  • Prayer Partner
  • Financial Counseling
  • Job listings and coaching (help with resume writing, reviews and interviews)
  • A higher value Kohl's card in our Back-2-School program
  • An additional gift at Healthy Homes
  • Automotive referrals and monetary assistance with necessary repairs.

To maintain your status as an Active Participant we require the following:

  1. Be a participant.
  2. Attend a full session of Book Club, Retreat, or Family Camp, have regular attendance at a sponsoring Church, or by serving regularly on a One Step Ministry event team.

Next Generation

Next Gen status must be achieved yearly beginning in September.

Next Gens lead an area of our ministry. As a Next Gen, in addition to Active Participant services, you will receive the following services.

  • Leadership training
  • The highest value Kohl's card in our Back-2-School program

To maintain your status as a Next Generation Participant we require the following:

  1. Be an active participant.
  2. Be a team leader in one of our programs or events.
