A NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR
As we close out 2025 and welcome 2026, I'd like to thank all the volunteers and financial supporters who have enabled One Step to ease the burden of single-parent families. Through your time and resources, single parents have been blessed with material needs and spiritual refreshment.
One of the resources I like comes from the Christian Counseling Center and is called The 49 Qualities of Christ. Number 24 is "Hospitality vs. Loneliness."--cheerfully sharing food, shelter, and spiritual refreshment with those whom God brings into my life. It references Hebrews 13:2
"Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing this some have entertained angels without knowing it" (Hebrews 13:2).
I thought it strange to see the two compared but as I attempt to apply it to my life I've found wisdom in it. For you won't be lonely when you're providing hospitality to others. As you dig into God's Word I pray God takes hold of your heart and motivates you to continue sharing His goodness with others.

HEALTHY HOMES
When: January 31, 2026
When money is tight, cleaning items are eliminated from shopping lists, increasing the likelihood of illness, which may lead to job loss. One Step partners with local businesses and other donors to collect cleaning supplies. Then we invite single parents to come and hear from special speakers on keeping their homes physically, nutritionally and spiritually healthy.

TAILGATE CLOSET
When: January 31st Time:10 a.m. - 12 p.m. Where: TerraNova Church (map)
Tailgate Closet is the perfect place to recycle or pick out new or gently used clothing for you and your family. It will be held at TerraNova Church on the second Saturday of every other month.
Bring a bag of gently used items for others you no longer use and get items you need. Or you can make a $5 donation, or in lieu of $5, you can stay and help pack up the clothing afterward.
Once a year we make God's love famous by going to single-parent homes and apartments to help make repairs, do yard clean-up, installations, repairs, etc. ... as we are able. If you are in need of tenant-responsibility repairs or help, sign up and we we'll do our best to help you.
